Family and staff

Nicolas, the son, began his career in Marcelin, for 3 years, obtaining his CFC winegrower diploma. Growing interest for profession, he attended Changins School and graduated in oenology while doing internships in different wine companies. An opportunity took him to South Africa on a 1,000 hectare estate where he practiced oenology for a few months.Enriched by the experience, he decided to start a great adventure back in Switzerland: to enlarge the family estate in operating surface and ensure the vinification of wines directly on the estate with the help of his father.

Monique Nicolas’ mother, of Bern origin, arrived in the Vaud county at age 16 as an au pair. She met Jean-Claude whom she married and has seconded him daily for many years now. Bilingual, friendly and professional, Monique will welcome you with great pleasure to help you discover our different vintages. Being the "green thumb", she brightens the estate courtyard by growing different fragrances according to the seasons.

Jean-Claude Nicolas’ father, represents the fourth generation of the Domain. At the dawn of his 25 years he took the reins of a four hectare domain, including crops. More interested in the vineyards, he decided to devote himself to it entirely from the early eighties. For nearly 30 years, he has contributed to the development of the Chantemerle Domain values.
Today you will regularly find him at exhibits and fairs promoting our experience. He travels throughout Switzerland delivering wine and prunes the vines from January to March.

Marius and Violeta our loyal employees of Polish origin arrived at the Domain in 2008.
They are a great help for much of the year when the vines grow. Very professional and conscientious, they are entrusted with selecting their own team of pickers.
